This beautiful film about first love tells the story of Raul, a middle-class boy who falls in love with Amy, a poor orphan girl, who lives with her uncle, a drunken but good-hearted sea captain. Raul begins to doubt his feelings for Amy because he is ridiculed by his classmates, who view the impoverished girl with contempt - until the day arrives when their school needs her!
