This DVD features the superb young violinist Valeriy Sokolov in this Bruno Monsaingeon film. The film is of a 2004 concert performance in the Saint-Pierre des Cuisines Auditorium in Toulouse, accompanied on the piano by Svetlana Kosenko. The concert is introduced by a short presentation by Mr. Sokolov himself. The concert includes works by Beethoven, Prokofiev, Ysaye, Saint-Saens, Bartok/Szigeti, Skorikh, and Dvorak/Persinger.
