Movie: VABANK DVD

Debut feature film of Juliusz Machulski, director of KINGSIZE and SEXMISSION, two of Poland's favorite comedy hits. Set in Lodz in 1930's, the film follows the exploits of Kwinto, a safecracker and thief from the old school who takes a sense of pride in his work and remains loyal to his crew. After serving years in prison for a crime he didn't commit, Kwinto (played by the director's father, Jan Machulski) seeks revenge on the former accomplice who framed him. The once-trusted associate is now a bank president. Machulski and his films are at last becoming well-known to international audiences for their quirky characters and offbeat humor.
