Movie: JOHNNY AQUARIUS DVD

Director Jan Jakub Kolski (PORNOGRAFIA) fashions an inventive tale of an aging peasant Johnny Aquarius who discovers that he is suddenly gifted with the power to make it rain, heal the sick, and cause water to flow upwards. He leaves his pregnant wife and sets off to perform miracles for the local folk, who follow him and hang on his every deed. In this fable of folly and hubris, Kolski returns to his unique style of magic realism, in which extraordinary events occur in an ordinary world. Veteran Polish actor Franciszek Pieczka (MOTHER JOAN OF THE ANGELS, QUO VADIS?) turns in the performance of his career as the philosophical Johnny Aquarius.
