A letter from a lawyer reunites 3 friends who grew up together in a small town. They are to attend the reading of the will of their old schoolteacher, but they get into a fight and end up in the local jail. Each of the 3 falls for the sister of one of the others. The teacher's will is read and the 3 friends inherit not money, but the responsibility of caring for the children of an orphanage.
