El Puma, a young man who has just become a lawyer, returns home to the ranch owned by his father, a local tyrant in northern Mexico. El Puma soon sees how poorly the ranch and farm workers are treated and decides to challenge his father and some animal and seed traders. A rancher hires him to investigate the puzzling disappearance of some of his cattle and el Puma discovers that rustlers have been forging branding irons and rebranding the cattle. In town, el Puma is blamed for the diminishing business at the local saloon. A terrible fight ensues between those who support el Puma and the rustlers and ruffians, who kill his father.
