Families are universal; so, too, are family secrets. Uncle Chaim is a mentally handicapped man, shunned since childhood, especially by his younger brother, Abie. Abie can't bear the thought of Chaim's bizarre behavior; he's never even revealed Chaim's existence to his own son, Danny, or to the members of his Orthodox synagogue. Come this Sabbath, lives will change. At a crossroads, Abie must choose: let Chaim back into his life, and risk Danny's love, or reject Chaim, and suffer the consequences of conscience. Every denial is just one more shaky wall in Abie's house of cards—until it all comes crashing down.
