Konitz talks of the lasting impact study with Lennie Tristano made on his music. Konitz is a man obsessed with line and rhythm, insisting on the importance of playing melodies straight, and singing old Louis Armstrong solos in unison with Danko (who strums piano strings, autoharp style, on 'Struttin' With Some Barbecue.'
