Adrift is a lyrical first-person account of loss in an Irish-American family. When the four Curran children lost their father, twelve-year-old Tom did not cry. Instead he made a secret vow to someday become an athlete in the ""big leagues"" for his Dad. Despite his efforts, Curran's professional career never materialized. At 37, cameraman and first-time director Tom Curran revisits his family's past in Alaska and Cape Cod to trace his struggle to meet his late father's expectations.
