In 1974, Celia Cruz & The Fania All Stars were invited to take part in a 3-day festival celebrating black sports and music in Kinshasa, Zaire. Their original performance on the first day caused such a commotion that they were invited back two days later for an encore performance. The concert was part of the famous Rumble In The Jungle fight between George Foreman and Muhammad Ali. Leon Gast is the director, as he was also working on his Academy Award winning film When We Were Kings at the same time. Gast was originally going to film the main fight, but when the match was postponed, it gave him a chance to film the preamble concert to the fight.
