On February 28, 2004, Kiri gave an historic gala concert at The Aotea Centre to launch the Kiri Te Kanawa Foundatio, created with the stated mission of providing financial and career support for talented young New Zealand singers and musicians. She was accompanied by the Auckland Philarmonia, and invited some of her native New Zealand friends to share in this world-class occasion, including Dame Malvina Major, Simon O'Neill, and Helen Medlyn. The DVD is recorded in LCPM Stereo/Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround. Included are works by Mozart, Richard Strauss, Bizet, Verdi, Charpentier, Delibes, Puccini, Cilea, Bernstein, Johann Strauss II, and more.
