Tsubasa is a shy elementary school girl with very few friends. One night she sees a shooting star anf follows it to a downed alien spacecraft. The alien gives her a clone named Hikaru, who's as outgoing as Tsubasa is quiet. As Tusbasa teaches her new companion about the world, she rediscovers it herself. When hostile alien life forms appear, Tsubasa and Hikaru unite to form Figure 17, a bio-humanoid combat system.
