Elgar's 3rd Symphony, commissioned by the BBC, was left unfinished in 1932. Anthony Payne's elaboration of the sketches into full-scale symphonic form realized the potential of Elgar's conception, bringing the rich fragments to life. Paul Daniel conducts the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.
