The live concert was recorded in 1999 at the magnificent 500 year old gothic Amadus Church in Germany, celebrating the 250th anniversary of Goethe's birth with a program of scenes of his masterpiece Faust set to music by Robert Schumann. The imaginative and mysterious subject of Goethe's Faust inspired Schumann to create this work and it is considered among Schumann’s best compositions. Frieder Bernius conducts the renowned Klassische Philharmonie Stuttgart and the Chamber Choir Stuttgart.
