After years of content but increasingly dull matrimony, Charles starts to suspect his seemingly devoted wife Helene of having an affair. The thought starts to consume his every waking moment. His secure world is rocked when a private detective he has hired confirms his worst fears - that his wife has had a younger lover, Victor, for some time.
