Commemorating the 155th anniversary of Schumann's death, this film by Ernst Burger reveals his human side through a chronicle of his life from 1828 to his death in 1856. With performances by Leonard Bernstein and the Vienna Philharmonic, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Andras Schiff, Zoltan Kocsis, Hermann Preym and Daniel Barenboim with Sergiu Celibidache and the Munich Philharmonic, it's a hauntingly beautiful tribute to the life of an incredibly influential composer. Michael Fuehr directs this film featuring Michael Tregor, Sophie Von Kessel, and Joachim Hoppner.
