This band, named aftera famous native american woman who resisted the Spanish invaders in the Caribbean became the first all-female Cuban Son Band. Established in the 1930's, the band performed until 1999. 50 years after they started, Anacaona was declared part of Cuba's National Heritage. The DVD includes a 45 minute documentary film, 40 minutes of music with Frank Emilio Flynn and Nico Rojas.
