Two generations of genius are brought to life in this lavish miniseries about one of the most talented families in history. This film spans 85 years, from Johann Strauss, Sr.'s humble beginnings to his rise to become one of the most famous musicians in Europe. But as he turns his attentions to his mistresses, his wife begins to support the musical aspirations of their prodigiously gifted son, Johann, Jr., and father and son find themselves fierce rivals in the musical and political world of nineteenth century Vienna. This 8-part miniseries stars Derek Jacobi and Jane Seymour with a score by the London Symphony Orchestra.
