For every band there comes a moment of truth in their career, a moment where the surrounding circumstances can put the further existence of the band into question. For Flotsam and Jetsam, the thrash metal five piece from Phoenix, Arizona, that moment came around the release of their fifth album, 'Drift'. Between 1992 and 1995 the group went trough some tough experiences, which were sometimes referred to by the band as 'D-hell'. Bassist Jason Ward (who joined Flotsam and Jetsam in 1990) explains: 'We've had success but we've also had to deal with death, divorce, deceit, people playing with your emotions, difficult business decisions, bad timing, yet this band will not die.'
