The DVD captures the incredibly successful player on location at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City during the record breaking 2006 Message From Gadd tour. The 95-minute session offers a Q&A session with the modern drumming icon. He discusses many of the signature drum tracks he created with many artists. One highlight is a self-accompanied brush solo on Bye, Bye Blackbird. Additional topics include applying rudiments to the drumset and playing to a click-track, odd-times, shuffles and solos in a musical context. Bonus footage includes a 20-minute Steve Gadd documentary plus a Steve Gadd - Giovanni Hidalgo duet from 1997 Modern Drummer Festival.
