This DVD establishes the foundation of grooves for the 21st Century. In this 2nd of 2 DVDs Stanton demonstrates how to blend contemporary ideas such as simple sticking, linear drumming and the combination of other styles with the traditional Second Line to create a new approach to New Orleans drumming. He shares ideas on how to bring character to a groove by paying attention to details and adding inflection while staying true to the underlying rhythmic structure. Also included is Stantons personal approach to incorporating Mambo, Guaguanco, Shuffle, Boogaloo Bossa-nova and Samba with Second Line drumming to add a modern and progressive flair to his playing.
