Elena, a shy school teacher, inherits a fortune when her mother dies, and, to overcome her great sadness, invites her friend, Clara, to live with her. While visiting relatives in Acapulco, Elena meets and falls in love with Victor, and they are soon married. When Elena returns home with her new husband, Clara becomes insane with jealousy, and tries to sabotage the marriage.
