Cleveland cartoonist Joey Wellman (Adolph Green) accepts an invitation to show his work at an exclusive Parisian gallery. But his real motivation is his hope to reconcile with his estranged daughter Elsie (Laura Benson), who is trying to rid herself of her American provinciality by emulating the great French intellectual Christian Gaulthier (Gerard Depardieu). Scored by John Kander, this film also features Linda Lavin.
