The DVD includes mateiral by Leoncavallo, Suppe, Wagner, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, and Beethoven. The CD includes 3 selections available for the first time on CD by Liszt, Bach, and Brahms. Karajan conducts the Berlin Philharmonic and Orchestra del Teatro all Scala di Milano. Performers include Christian Ferras, Michel Schwalbe, Jon Vickers, Thomas Stewart, Peter Schreier, and Alexis Weissenberg.
