Ferocious. There has been no team before, and no team after, that was quite like the 1985 Chicago Bears. Each week they dominated opponents - simply mashed them - until, gratefully, the final whistle blew. Teams entered Soldier Field in fear and left in pain. It was that kind of season. On offense, the Bears would slam Walter Payton at you until you broke and then they'd go long to speedster Willie Gault down the sideline. On defense - it was an avalanche of navy blue. Speed from the outside with Wilbur Marshall and Richard Dent and strength in the middle with Mike Singletary and William 'The Refrigerator' Perry. Nowhere to run. Nowhere to hide.
