Legendary Polish screen stars Zbigniew Cybulski and Elzbieta Czyzewski star in this light-hearted comedy set in German-occupied Poland during World War II. Cybulski plays an artist whose kind-hearted sister, Maria, brings an Italian deserter named Giuseppe into their Warsaw apartment. Trouble begins when Giuseppe falls in love with Maria, played by the Czyzewski, who tries to keep her involvement in the Polish underground under wraps.
