This DVD showcases Petrol Records' discovery of a new genre of music direct from the youth in the impoverished city of Santiago de Cuba. Included is a diverse collection of performers including El Medico, Los Compadres, Kuva Man To Man, Resurrection, Candyman, Donato, Lady Ragga, Fresca, Black Boy, 3.X., and Katiuska. Also included is an introduction by Petrol Records founder Chris Murphy, whose team set up a portable music studio to record and film these young Cubans who came armed with an arsenal of rhythms and grooves shaped by decades of struggle they have survived.
